Token Program Proposals (TPPs) include all proposals submitted through the ZKsync Token Governor. TPPs approve “Token Programs” that deploy “Token Mechanics”. The goals of TPPs and the ZKsync governance system in general are focused on upholding the ZK Credo and realizing the vision of the Elastic Chain.
Token Programs are a new way of thinking about adding new token utilities and providing access to the Token Assembly’s ZK token allocation. Instead of a single transfer (“bucket”) of tokens, the ZKsync governance system approves Token Programs that deploy smart contracts that can execute allocations of tokens based on meeting specified metrics (“Token Mechanics”).
Instead of requesting funds from a “treasury,” the Token Assembly utilizes Capped Minters, capped “on-demand minting” smart contracts, to allocate funds towards Token Programs. This way, instead of requesting “buckets”, the Token Assembly is building “pipes” that autonomously mint and allocate tokens to projects, users, and organizations that meet certain requirements and/or achieve specific KPIs. In this way, Token Program Proposals add more specific, functional token allocation infrastructure, rather than function as unilateral distributions.
